Whether you're new to horses or looking to refine your skills, our Western riding program offers personalized instruction in a supportive and encouraging environment. Lessons focus on building confidence, horsemanship, safety, and effective communication with your horse.

Ride directly from Long Bar Ranch onto miles of scenic equestrian trails surrounding the Feather River and Lake Oroville. Our guided rides explore a variety of historic and picturesque routes featuring oak woodlands, rolling foothills, river overlooks, and panoramic lake views.
Depending on trail conditions and your group's experience level, rides may include sections of:
Brad Freeman Trail – A renowned multi-use trail offering beautiful views of the Feather River, Oroville Dam, and Lake Oroville. Equestrian access is available on designated sections.
Dan Beebe Trail – A scenic foothill trail connecting the Lake Oroville Visitor Center, Oroville Dam, and Kelly Ridge, with sweeping views of the lake and surrounding countryside.
Every ride is customized to provide the best experience based on the season, trail conditions, and rider ability.

Build a strong foundation from the ground up. These hands-on sessions cover horse handling, grooming, tacking up, safety, horse behavior, and essential horsemanship skills.

Come meet and greet at the ranch. You will be able to meet the horses and match you up with a horse that’s available here for your riding skill level.
New Rider Intro Lesson – $60
Perfect for first-time riders or those returning to horses after time away.

Guided Trail Ride - $150 for 2 Hours Instructor-Led

Group Lesson – $60 per rider
A fun and supportive learning environment where riders develop skills alongside others of similar experience levels.
Group Ground Lesson – $60 per person
