Our Story
At Long Bar Ranch, horses are more than our passion—they're part of our family's way of life. As a family-owned and operated ranch, we've been providing quality horse care, riding instruction, and a welcoming environment for riders of all ages and experience levels since 2003.
Our goal has always been simple: to create a place where horses receive exceptional care and people can build confidence, develop their horsemanship, and enjoy the special connection that comes from spending time with these incredible animals.
Nestled in the scenic foothills of Oroville, our ranch offers direct access to miles of beautiful riding trails, spacious boarding, professional instruction, and personalized care for every horse. We believe every horse is an individual and deserves patience, respect, and compassionate care.
As a family, we're proud to share our love of horses with our community. Whether you're taking your very first riding lesson, looking for a trusted place to board your horse, or interested in holistic wellness services, you'll find a supportive and friendly atmosphere at Long Bar Ranch.
We look forward to welcoming you to our ranch and helping you create lasting memories with your horse.

A lifelong passion for horses and horsemanship has shaped my journey at Long Bar Ranch. As a third-generation horsewoman with over 50 years of experience, horses have always been a central part of my life.
I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the greats in the industry, including training in natural horsemanship with Dennis Reis, and I continue to refine my skills through ongoing training with Carson James.
For the past 14 years, I have been teaching and training throughout Butte County, helping riders of all ages build confidence, develop their skills, and create a deeper connection with their horses. I especially enjoy working with children and introducing new riders to the patience, responsibility, and joy that come from being around these incredible animals.
Whether you’re beginning your riding journey, improving your horsemanship, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors through trail riding, I would love to welcome you to Long Bar Ranch.
Please reach out to schedule a visit or learn more about our lessons and programs. I look forward to sharing the experience of life with horses with you.

Growing up at Long Bar Ranch, horses have always been a part of my life. Being raised on our family ranch gave me a deep appreciation for the unique personalities of each horse and the special bond they share with the people who love them.
My journey into holistic wellness began with people. After learning the energy-based practices taught by Dr. Bradley Nelson, I started using these techniques to help family, friends, and others seeking a greater sense of balance and well-being. As my experience grew, I felt called to bring these same practices to the horses at our ranch.
Working with horses has become my passion. I combine energy-based wellness techniques with intuitive communication, taking time to listen and connect with each horse on a deeper level. I believe horses communicate in their own way, and by slowing down and being present, we can better understand what they may be experiencing and how to support them.
Every horse is unique, and my goal is to complement the excellent care they already receive by helping create a sense of balance, trust, and connection. Whether I'm working with one of our ranch horses or a client's beloved companion, I consider it a privilege to support their overall well-being and strengthen the relationship they share with their owners.
Helping both people and animals has been an incredibly rewarding journey, but my heart has found its home with horses. It is an honor to combine my lifelong love of these incredible animals with holistic wellness practices in the place where I grew up.

Our Philosophy
At Long Bar Ranch, we believe every horse is an individual with their own personality, experiences, and needs. True horsemanship begins with patience, respect, trust, and taking the time to understand the horse in front of us.
As a family-owned ranch, we have always believed that caring for horses goes beyond providing food and shelter. It means creating a safe, supportive environment where horses feel valued, and riders can build confidence and connection.
Our approach combines thoughtful horsemanship, personalized care, and a whole-horse perspective. We recognize the importance of supporting a horse’s physical, emotional, and energetic well-being through compassion, awareness, and a deeper connection.
Whether a horse is here for training, boarding, lessons, or wellness support, our goal is the same: to help each horse and rider feel understood, respected, and connected.
At Long Bar Ranch, we don't just care for horses—we build relationships with them.
